- TRANSGENDER COMMUNITY GETS THE RIGHT TO INHERIT ANCESTRAL AGRICULTURAL LAND: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath cabinet cleared an amendment to the UP-Revenue Code of 2006, removing the limitations of No-men-culture in inheritance law which only mentions Son, daughter, married, unmarried, widow. (The changes have been made to section 4(10), 108(2),109 and 110 of Up-Revenue code 2020)
- LIFELONG INCARCERATION WITHOUT REMISSION CANNOT BE IMPOSED BY TRIAL COURTS: Punjab and Haryana HC recently held that life imprisonment with deprivation of remission of a sentence or of parole is not to be dealt by the trial court in the matter of “Savitri V/s State of Haryana”.
- UP LOCAL COURT GRANTS BAIL TO TWO TABLIGHI JAMAAT MEMBERS: Two Tablighi Jamaat members, accused of hiding in the mosque after Delhi meet and spreading the COVID-19 infection have been granted bail on Friday.
- Delhi District Courts took up 67000 cases through video conferencing and pronounced judgments in 3700 cases during the period of COVID-19.
- TENDER OF MANUFACTURING 44 ‘VANDE BHARAT’ TRAINS CANCELLED: The Ministry of Railway has canceled the tender for manufacturing for 44 sets of semi-high speed ‘Vande Bharat’ train set and said that a new tender will be issued to meet the revised ‘Make in India’ guidelines.

- ‘DHANWANTRI RATH’ to bring Ayurveda at doorsteps of Delhi Police Family: An MoU has been signed between All India Institute to Ayurveda (AIIA) and Delhi Police on 18th August for extending the Ayurveda Preventive and Promotive Health services in the residential colonies of Delhi Police and services are to be provided through a mobile unit name ‘Dhanwantri Rath’ and police wellness centers and are to be created by AIIA supported by the Ministry of Ayush.
