Uttarakhand: Compulsory for young lawyers to pass All India Bar Exam to practice

A new condition has now been placed in front of the young advocates of Uttarakhand. Only after fulfilling the condition, they will be able to practice or do any other work in this field. Under the Bar Council of India Place and Validation Rules 2015, the advocates who have passed the law graduate examination after 12 August 2010 and have registered themselves in the Bar Council of Uttarakhand, must pass the All India Bar Exam to do the practice.

If he does not do so, he will be deprived of practicing in any court of Uttarakhand as a lawyer. They will not get any benefit from the bar council of Uttarakhand or government.

Uttarakhand Bar Council President Surendra Pundir has said in a statement issued on Wednesday that the Bar Council of Uttarakhand has been giving instructions to such advocates from time to time. Also, all the Bar Association of the state are also requested not to give member-ship of their Bar Association to such advocates who have not passed the All India Bar Examination.

The Chairman said that the advocates are being given the last chance. It is said that by 31 August 2020, apply for the All India Bar Exam and pass the examination. After this, the Bar Council of Uttarakhand will make a list of the advocates who have not passed the All India Bar Exam, and the action of separating them from the Advocate Roll will be implemented.
