  1. Centre Government told to Supreme Court that Loan moratorium is extendable up to two years under RBI’s August 6 circular on COVID-19 resolution framework.
  2. 25% Domicile Reservation at NLSIU: The Karnataka High Court reserved its order in a batch of pleas challenging the 25% domicile reservation introduced at the National Law School of India University, Bangalore.
  3. Tablighi Jamaat members are consolidated and transferred to one court: The Supreme Court has directed Patna High Court that the multiple FIRs filed in Bihar against Tablighi Jamaat members be consolidated and transferred to one court in the state. The court was hearing a plea filed by 34 foreign nationals challenging the decision of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to blacklist over 3,000 of them from travelling to India for a period of 10 years. The foreign nationals were facing trial for the alleged commission of offences under provisions of the Foreigners Act, 1946, the Epidemic Diseases Act, the Disaster Management Act, 2005, as well provisions of the Indian Penal Code.
  4. The Supreme Court today has given 10 year’s time for staggered payment of adjusted gross revenue (AGR) related dues by telecom giants including Vodafone Idea, Bharti Airtel and Tata Teleservices. A three-judge bench of Justices Arun Mishra, B.R. Gavai and Krishna Murari, in its verdict today, said that the telecom firms get 10 years to clear their AGR dues with instalments to be paid by March 31, of every succeeding year.
